Private Web

Planned

Every website with a login page is a target, and that is most of the web. Most attacks on websites start at the login page. Private Web takes your login and admin pages off the public internet. Visitors still see your site, but only the people you choose can reach the admin area, through Tunnel Manager.

Your browser connects through Tunnel Manager on your computer to your website's admin area. Your browser Tunnel Manager on your computer Your website's admin area
Admin pages answer only through the tunnel.

The market

WordPress alone runs almost 40% of all websites (W3Techs), and each of them has an admin login on the public internet. Shops, membership sites, intranets and agency-managed sites all have the same problem. Private Web gives every one of them a simple way to close the door: install a plugin, and staff reach the admin through the free Tunnel Manager. Site owners pay; staff and visitors pay nothing.

What it will do

  • Admin pages go private. Login, admin and other pages you choose answer only to people who reach them through Tunnel Manager.
  • Public pages stay public. Your visitors and customers notice nothing.
  • Easy for your team. Staff use the free Tunnel Manager app. They don't need a VPN.
  • Plugins for your platform. WordPress first, then other popular platforms.
  • Health and alerts. The plugin reports its health and can notify you.

Who it is for

  • Website and shop owners who are tired of password-guessing attacks on their login page.
  • Agencies and hosts who look after many sites.

How it will be sold

Tunnel Manager stays free for everyone. Site owners will buy Private Web plugins and server licences for their sites. Prices will be published at launch.

Status

Private Web is planned. It builds on Tunnel Manager, which is already released as a free preview. Register your interest and we will contact you when early access opens.
